The Aborted Bernard Hopkins vs Hermie Esguerra Light Heavyweight Undercard

This piece of news has not reached the headlines but deserved mention due to a Filipino who stood up to the boast of Bernard Hopkins hurled insults at Filipinos during the official weigh in and ended his tirade with the words:“My partner will knock out Pacquiao in seven and whoever disagrees, see me outside!!!”

A Filipino by the name of Hermie Esguerra stood up and took on the challenge. He weigh 170 lbs while Bernard Hopkins weigh 175 lbs.

What interrupted the melee was the announcement of the arrival of Pacquiao in the PA so the boxing match between Hopkins and Esguerra didn't push through.

We all know that Bernard Hopkins at 43 toyed with young Kelly Pavlik but his prediction was incorrect for we all know who won the fight.

What worries me was the reported unruly Mexicans who heckled Filipinos to the point of derisiveness. Well, you can't blame them, they now only have Zorro to fight Manny Pacquiao.

For now, Filipinos don't hate or make fun of opponents of Pacquiao for it's not really part of Filipino culture. Filipinos also idolize past opponents like Barrera, Juan Manuel Marquez, Erik Morales and David Diaz.
